In the workplace
It has been estimated that up to 75% of sickness in the workplace is stress-related at the cost of about £8 million and the loss of 360 million working days annually in the UK! Stress has now overtaken the common cold as the biggest cause of staff absence. Pain and stress are our body’s way of shouting that something within our current lifestyle is out of balance.
Holistic therapies focus on quietening the mind and may help the body to reduce stress and pain, improve health and happiness and help individuals to maintain balance in a world which is increasingly out of balance. In a workplace setting, regular therapy sessions can help staff with combating tiredness, irritability and low morale, enhancing efficiency and accuracy of work with clearer thinking and decision making and improving performance in physical tasks. Some of the benefits include reducing headaches, back strain and fatigue and improving the ability to cope and work effectively when under pressure.
How can reflexology be used in your organisation?
A room could be made available in your workplace and therapies could take place throughout the day, lunch time or in the evening.
Short treatments of:
–Indian Head Massage
can be given in a seated position, at the employee’s desk if necessary although a quiet room set aside for a few hours would aid the relaxation process.
The cost of treatments can be subsidised by the company so that workers only have to pay a minimal amount and discounts can be arranged for bulk bookings.
